The Channels board is where you connect social accounts and keep those connections healthy. Every connected account appears as a card showing the platform, the account name, its owning Brand Profile, and its connection status.
Before you connect
Connecting a channel requires a Brand Profile — every connection belongs to exactly one profile. If your workspace has no profiles yet, the Add account button stays disabled:
- Admins see a prompt to create a Brand Profile first (use Create Brand Profile in the header, or Settings → Brand Profiles).
- Members see a prompt to ask a workspace admin.
Connect an account
- Select Add account in the Channels header.
- Choose the Brand Profile that will own the connection.
- Find your platform — use the search field to filter the list.
- Select Connect. You’re redirected to the platform to sign in and approve Meltiply’s access.
- After approving, you’re returned to the app. If the connection succeeded, the new account appears on the Channels board.
To connect a second account on the same platform under the same profile — for example, two TikTok accounts for one brand — select Add Another on that platform’s row.
You can also open the connect dialog directly at /channels?tab=add.
Available platforms
You can connect accounts on:
- TikTok — short-form videos with custom sound and caption settings
- YouTube — long-form videos and Shorts
- Instagram — feed posts, Reels, and carousels
- Facebook — Pages and community groups
- Threads — text threads, single photos, and link posts
The connect dialog also lists additional platforms — including X (Twitter), LinkedIn, Pinterest, Reddit, Telegram, Bluesky, Mastodon, Discord, Medium, and WordPress — marked Preview. These aren’t connectable yet; they show what’s coming.
If connecting fails
If you cancel the platform’s permission prompt or the authorization can’t be completed, no account is added — start the connection again from Add account. If it keeps failing, see Troubleshooting.
Read the board
Each channel card shows:
- Platform icon and name, plus the connected account’s name or handle
- Status pill — see statuses below
- Brand Profile color dot and name — or Unknown profile if the owning profile was deleted
- Status reason — a short note explaining why a connection needs attention, when one exists
- Features chip — what the platform supports in Meltiply (Publishing, Analytics, Comments, Replies)
- Granted permissions — the access scopes the account authorized
Connection statuses
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Connected (green) | Working normally |
| Expiring (orange) | The authorization will expire soon — reconnect before it does |
| Expired (red) | The authorization lapsed — re-authenticate to restore publishing |
| Reconnect required (red) | The connection must be authorized again before it can publish |
| Revoked (red) | Access was withdrawn, typically from the platform’s own settings — reconnect to use it again |
Filter the board
The toolbar lets you narrow the card list by:
- Search — matches platform name, account name, and Brand Profile name
- Platform — show only selected platforms
- Brand Profile — show one profile’s channels, or All Brand Profiles
- Connection status — for example, show everything needing reconnection
Select Reset to clear all active filters. When filters hide every account, a Clear filters action restores the full list.
Reconnect a channel
When a connection shows Expiring, Expired, Reconnect required, or Revoked:
- On the channel card, select Re-authenticate.
- You’re redirected to the platform to approve access again.
- The card returns to Connected once the authorization completes.
Re-authentication keeps the channel’s existing Brand Profile — nothing needs to be reconfigured.
Disconnect a channel
Disconnecting removes Meltiply’s link to the account.
- Filter the board to the channel’s Brand Profile — the disconnect action only appears when a profile is selected.
- On the channel card, select the trash (Disconnect channel) icon.
- Confirm in the Disconnect dialog.
The confirmation warns that scheduled and queued posts for that channel stop publishing. Nothing is deleted — you can reconnect the account at any time through Add account. To remove it from the platform’s side too, revoke Meltiply’s access in that platform’s own app settings.
Manage Brand Profiles from Channels
Admins can manage profiles without leaving the board:
- Create Brand Profile in the header — after saving, the connect dialog opens so you can link a channel immediately
- Edit profile — from a channel card’s profile menu (⋯), or the pencil icon inside the Brand Profile filter
- Delete profile — from the same menu; deleting permanently removes the profile’s channels, assets, and posts and cannot be undone (see Workspaces & Brand Profiles for the full lifecycle, including the Deleted Brand Profiles view in Settings)
