# Billing & plans

How Meltiply plans, usage limits, and payments work — and how to upgrade or manage your subscription from the Plan & usage page.

Meltiply plans set limits on how much you can upload, publish, and store, plus which features are included. Everything about your current subscription lives on the **Plan & usage** page at `/billing`.
Open it from the **Billing** item in the sidebar.

## Plans at a glance

Meltiply has three plan tiers:

- **Free** — included with every workspace, no payment required.
- **Creator** — the first paid tier, aimed at individual creators.
- **Agency** — the top tier, aimed at teams and agencies managing more publishing volume.

Each plan defines limits for:

- **Uploads** — media assets added to your library per usage period.
- **Distributions** — posts published or scheduled to connected platforms per usage period.
- **Platforms** — social accounts you can connect at one time.
- **Storage** — total space your uploaded media can occupy.
- **Analytics** — whether post performance sync is included.
- **Inbox replies** — whether replying to comments from the Inbox is included.

Exact limits can change over time — the plan card on **Plan & usage** always shows the limits that apply to your workspace right now.

## The Plan & usage page

The page is split into two cards:

- **Plan** — your plan name, a status pill, the renewal or cancellation date when one exists, and the full list of limits for the plan.
- **Current usage** — meters for uploads, distributions, API calls, and storage against your limits, for the displayed usage period.

A status pill next to the page title shows your billing state:

- **Free** — the workspace is on the Free plan with no paid subscription.
- **Trialing** — a paid plan is in its trial period.
- **Active** — the paid subscription is in good standing.
- **Past due** — a payment failed; paid-plan limits are not applied while the subscription is past due.
- **Cancelled** — the subscription ended; the workspace runs on Free-plan limits.

Paid-plan limits apply only while the subscription status is Active or Trialing. If a subscription becomes Past due or is cancelled, the workspace reverts to Free-plan limits.

## Approaching and reaching limits

When usage reaches roughly 80% of a limit, a warning banner appears on the affected page and on **Plan & usage**. At 100%, the action is blocked — for example, you cannot upload more media or schedule more posts until the usage period resets or the plan changes.

The Inbox also warns when replies approach or reach the plan's reply limits.

## Upgrading your plan

1. On **Plan & usage**, click **Upgrade to Creator** or **Upgrade to Agency** — the button always offers the next tier above your current plan.
2. Meltiply opens a hosted checkout page provided by **Polar**, our payment provider. Pricing and payment details are shown there before you confirm — Meltiply itself does not list prices or handle your card number.
3. Complete checkout and you are returned to the Billing page, which shows a **Confirming your billing update** notice. Your plan only changes after the confirmed billing update reaches Meltiply, so the page keeps showing your previous verified plan until then.

## Managing a paid subscription

Workspaces with a paid subscription see a **Manage billing** button on **Plan & usage**. It opens Meltiply's hosted billing portal (also provided by Polar), where you manage the subscription itself. If the subscription is set to end, the plan card shows a "Cancels" date.

If a redirect to checkout or the portal fails, an error message appears inline and you can retry without losing your place.
